Danzo appears behind Sasuke and attempts to stab him with a kunai, only to be stopped by Sasuke’s Susanoo. Sasuke then counterattacks and crushes Danzo beneath Susanoo’s fist. However even though Danzo’s body appears to have been physically crushes, he reappears seconds later atop a nearby pillar, completely unscathed. Karin first suspects the technique may be genjutsu but both Sasuke and her own inner chakra are stable.
Sasuke orders Susanoo to destroy the pillar, forcing Danzo to leap back to evade. While Danzo is airborne, Sasuke activates his Amaterasu to engulf Danzo in its black flames. Believing he has finished his opponent, Sasuke lets his guard down momentarily but is immediately assaulted by one of Danzo’s Fuuton jutsu from behind. Sasuke has no choice but leap off the bridge to dodge it, but manages to summon a large hawk to save himself from plunging below. Karin is carefully watching Danzo from nearby and notices that one of the Sharingans on his arm close.
Danzo tells Sasuke that his failure to recognize Itachi’s sacrifice makes all he has done pointless. Sasuke is provoked by Danzo’s words and charges at him on the back of his hawk. Danzo fires a Fuuton wave technique, forcing Sasuke to leap off and come at Danzo through the air. Surprisingly, Danzo is ablle to read Sasuke’s movements fast enough to grab him by the throat. But it is Sasuke who comes out on top as he slices off Danzo’s Sharingan-covered arm with his sword. As the arm falls to the ground, Karin once more observes several Sharingans closing, followed by the entire arm fading into nothing.
But once again Danzo reappears nearby with his arm reattached and nary a scratch on him. He tells Sasuke it’s no use but the Uchiha only stares back with his Mangekyou Sharingans. Suddenly, a flock of crows emerge from Sasuke’s body and Danzo turns around to come face-to-face with Itachi.
