Kisame has fused with his sword Samehada to transform into a half-man half-shark creature. He has trapped Killerbee along with the enka ninja Sabu and his pet tanuki Ponta. Kisame charges towards him, but Killerbee is more concerned about his companions running out of air. He activates his stage two Bijuu transformation and brings Sabu and Ponta with him as he tries to find the edge of the water dome. However, Kisame is moving the water dome to match Killerbee’s movement so that can’t reach the edge.
The Hachibi inside Killerbee suggests to leave Sabu and Ponta behind; because Kisame is only interested in him, if Killerbee ran in the opposite direction, his friends will be out of the water dome if they stayed in one place. But Kisame doesn’t fall for it and goes to attack Sabu and Ponta. Killerbee rushes back to save his friends, but Kisame turns to attack him. Killerbee performs a partial Bijju transformation and tries to hold off Kisame with some of Hachibi’s tentacles.
Killerbee manages to get his companions to safety, but he himself is almost out of air. Kisame uses this weakness to break Killerbee’s hold on him and prepares for a final attack on his prey. Hachibi warns that at this rate they’ll need to withdraw and regroup. Killerbee agrees and release a cloud of ink to cover his escape. However, when fused with Samehada, Kisame can sense the chakra of other people and has no problem locating his opponent.
The water dome is released and Killerbee lies unconscious at Kisame’s feet. Kisame reverses his fusion to return to normal. Because he does not Killerbee to runaway again, he decides to ct off his feet. Just as Kisame tries to use Samehada on Killerbee, the sword digs into the ground and refuses to obey. In a surprising turn of events, Samehada turns on Kisame to protect Killerbee. After consuming so much of Killerbee’s chakra, Samehada has grown attached to him. Samehada begins transferring chakra to the unconscious Killerbee, but that’s when Kisame has had enough and punts his sword away. Killerbee has awoken after receiving some chakra but is still weak and can only attempt to crawl away. Upon seeing this, Kisame picks up one of Killerbee’s swords and plans to finish what he started.
